Macy’s Inc is a publicly traded American department store chain including banners; Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury. They offer their customers a convenient and seamless shopping experience for thousands of brands including everything from off-price to luxury in Stores nationwide.

OPPORTUNITY

Macy’s differentiates themselves by offering a unique shopping experience personalized for their customers and offering a seamless shopping experience for their large array of brands and styles. They needed to capture their as-built spaces with a high level of detail and accuracy for their design team so they could confidently design spaces, order custom fixtures, and complete construction with detailed plans.

DEDON’S RESPONSE

We worked closely with Macy’s Store Planning and design teams through strategy sessions to learn their goals, deliverable expectations, business rules, and brand management. Our Field Team was challenged to provide Macy’s Store Planning teams with CAD drawings and Matterport Scans of their Stores which they could turn over to their design team with confidence. CAD Drawings gave them the detail that they needed for their spaces and Matterport Scans allowed their design team to virtually visit Stores to ensure detailed design success. DedON’s Retail Support Team used the CAD Drawings to create future state layouts to fit the proposed design in existing conditions of Macy’s Stores which were then used by Installation teams to execute Future State Store plans.

RESULTS

Macy’s project plans were executed with confidence and accuracy; delivering on time in an efficient and organized manner. Their Store Planning team embraced DedON as an extension of their team, reducing their workload and trusting DedON to execute a variety of other projects. Macy’s trusted DedON with their implementation of design and business/ brand rules.
