OPPORTUNITY

Home Depot initially approached DedON for site surveys, but as collaboration grew, the company’s Store Planning Team identified a need for broader support.

With a high volume of smaller program projects and limited internal capacity, Home Depot required a partner who could:

• Understand and apply their store planning business rules
• Produce accurate, consistent layouts for ongoing programs
• Scale quickly to support hundreds of drawings and updates
• Ensure layouts remained reliable for business-critical decision-making

DedON was asked to step in and strengthen their planning capabilities with additional expertise and production capacity.

DedON worked closely with Home Depot to understand their store planning standards, guidelines, and operational workflows. From there, we built a dedicated store planning team designed specifically to support their high-volume program needs.

Our team:

• Applied Home Depot’s guidelines and business rules to all planning work
• Developed a structured workflow to plan how and when each store would be captured
• Delivered accurate CAD layouts and data for both current-state and future-state conditions
• Scaled production to consistently support the high volume of program projects

Even as an external resource, DedON’s team became deeply familiar with the client’s operations — enabling efficient collaboration and allowing Home Depot to offload significant planning responsibilities with confidence.

RESULTS

DedON now supports Home Depot on an ongoing basis, producing 182 CAD layouts every month to maintain accurate store documentation.

This includes:

• Updating current plans as changes occur in store
• Creating future-state layouts to support upcoming initiatives
• Ensuring consistent accuracy across all drawings used for operational, merchandising, and planning decisions
