Situation

Aritzia is a fast-growing, innovative design house and fashion retailer of exclusive brands. The Vancouver, BC–based company conceives, creates, develops and sells a strategic mix of women’s fashion products through more than 80 stores in prime real estate locations – high-performing retail malls and top retail streets across North America. Meticulously designed stores are a hallmark of the Aritzia brand. The architectural and design teams for new stores require accurate and comprehensive as-built surveys for each potential location in order to accommodate the design and construction process.

Solution

Aritzia partnered with DedON and its proven onsite-profiling platform to obtain as-built surveys before the design, layout, material procurement and construction of all new store projects. DedON’s site survey professionals visited the sites and created complete and detailed drawings and reports that included existing assets, such as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), status verification and visual evidence. The files that originated from the process were used to create full AutoCAD drawings of each location that can be shared among all project teams in the new store design and construction function.

Results

Aritzia’s architects and designers now had accurate information at their fingertips that allowed them to consider each boutique individually, creating a bespoke mix of local influences, natural materials, custom furniture, and art. It also gave Aritzia the capability to leverage existing infrastructure, promote value engineering and allow for capital and expense control plus budget and schedule adherence. The new stores support the Aritzia’s brand position through unique retail environments that provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience.
